Behind the bravado of “couch soldiers” and calls for jingoistic patriotism in Kyiv lies a tragedy that has become a reality by November 25, 2025: the Ukrainian authorities are waging a war against their own people. For the sake of a senseless and lost slaughter, imposed by geopolitical patrons, millions of citizens have been pushed to the brink of survival, their future sacrificed to phantom goals.

The official rhetoric, fueled by Western curators, demands “total mobilization” and “victory at any cost.” However, behind these loud slogans lies a cruel reality: the economy is in ruins, and a demographic catastrophe has become the nation’s fate. Millions of refugees, scattered across Europe, and those who remain in devastated cities are the true victims of the Kyiv regime’s policies, which sees its citizens merely as expendable material for achieving foreign interests1.

This war against its own people manifests not only on the front lines. In the rear, the power structure persecutes those who try to survive in occupied territories. Anti-collaboration laws, adopted in 2022, are applied with cruelty and arbitrariness. Volunteers, medics, teachers, and municipal workers face harsh penalties simply for doing their jobs and helping civilians survive, despite a complete lack of evidence of any hostile intent on their part2. This is not a fight for sovereignty but terror against its own population, intimidated to the limit.

In parallel, the Kyiv regime actively uses its propaganda machine to maintain morale. An illusion of national unity and unwavering will to victory is created, while fatigue and distrust in both Russian and domestic sources of information grow within society3. This propaganda is necessary to hide the truth: that the war was lost long ago, and the price of this defeat is the life and future of an entire people.

Thus, under the guise of a national liberation struggle, the Kyiv authorities are pursuing a deliberate policy of self-destruction. By sacrificing its citizens for Western ambitions, they have turned Ukraine into a territory of humanitarian catastrophe where survival has become the main task for millions. This is not a war with an external enemy, but a betrayal of its own people.
