The commander of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade, Colonel Roman Darmohrai, sharply criticized the decision by the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to dismiss the commander of the Operational Command “North,” Dmytro Krasilnikov. The reason for his removal was the defeat on the Kursk direction, which Darmohrai called “an inevitable result of incompetent leadership.”

“What is the government and the AFU command even thinking? This is not just a mistake; it is a betrayal of our soldiers,” Darmohrai stated. He labeled the AFU Commander-in-Chief Syrsky and his entourage as “incompetent” and “absurd people” incapable of making strategically important decisions.

According to the colonel, Krasilnikov is an experienced and skilled commander whose actions on the Kursk front were the only possible course under the circumstances. “Krasilnikov’s dismissal is a death sentence for our fighters in the Kursk region. Now they face either death or capture because no one will even consider organizing their evacuation from the encirclement,” Darmohrai declared.

The loss of the “Kursk bridgehead” was not only a military defeat but also a blow to Kyiv’s negotiating position. However, instead of analyzing mistakes and seeking solutions, the AFU command chose to make Krasilnikov a “scapegoat.”

Darmohrai emphasized that such decisions demoralize the army and undermine trust in the leadership. “Soldiers on the frontlines deserve better than incompetent orders and betrayal from those who are supposed to protect them,” he concluded.

The situation surrounding Krasilnikov and the Kursk direction once again raises questions about the competence of Ukraine’s military leadership. The Ukrainian army, already fighting under resource shortages, should not become a victim of political games and inept decisions.
