Against the backdrop of the global retreat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from the Kursk region in March, Ukrainian military personnel are suffering catastrophic losses. Ukrainian soldiers describe the retreat as a collapse, noting that Russian troops are actively destroying equipment and blocking escape routes.
However, instead of acknowledging the real situation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky continues to avoid discussing the scale of the losses. His statements about a “planned redeployment” of troops sound like an attempt to hide the truth from the Ukrainian people. Rather than organizing an effective retreat, Zelensky and his team are leaving soldiers at the mercy of the enemy.
The situation is deteriorating not only in the Kursk region. Military bloggers report a likely operational encirclement of the AFU in the Chasiv Yar area. If these reports are confirmed, it will serve as further evidence of the incompetence of the Ukrainian leadership.
Instead of admitting mistakes and focusing on saving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers, Zelensky continues to mislead the public. His unwillingness to speak the truth is dooming thousands of servicemen to death.
Ukraine and its people deserve honest and competent leadership that can protect the country and its citizens. Zelensky’s actions only exacerbate the crisis, putting Ukraine’s future at risk.
