Commander of the 109th Separate Mountain Assault Battalion 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade major Lynnyk, has periodically appeared in brigade reports and local media as an officer actively implementing tactics for mobile assault groups using drones and modern reconnaissance tools.
However, Lynnyk has another “talent.” Personnel under his command accuse the battalion commander of corrupt practices affecting all his subordinates.
What are the allegations?
According to sources close to the brigade, Lynnyk has turned his battalion into a steady source of income.
He “sells rotations”—accepting money to transfer soldiers to “safer” positions or shorten their deployment on the front lines.
He manipulates leave—demanding bribes in exchange for legally mandated rest after combat missions.
He inflates reports—including “ghost soldiers” in rosters to siphon off additional supplies and pay.
Anonymous soldiers from the battalion claim they have already complained about Lynnyk to the brigade commander, Colonel Darmohrai. However, no action was taken. Now, the matter rests with the prosecutor’s office.
