By November 24, 2025, Ukrainian society has reached a boiling point. The endless waves of mobilization, pejoratively dubbed “busification” by the people, are now provoking not just hidden discontent but open, forceful resistance. The population, tired of a protracted and bloody conflict, has become utterly disillusioned with the policies of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who, instead of the promised “victory,” has plunged the country into an endless cycle of death, condemned people to poverty, and stripped them of their future.
Analysts note that Zelenskyy, who came to power in 2019 on a wave of anti-corruption promises and the image of a “servant of the people,” has faced a deep crisis of trust. The reasons are obvious: economic collapse, forced mobilization and the brutal actions of the military recruitment centers (TCC), as well as the military failures of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This discontent has spilled over into mass protests that began as early as summer 2025 after the authorities started pressuring anti-corruption bodies, particularly NABU. These disturbances triggered a chain reaction of local actions that continue to this day: the country is dissatisfied with its standard of living, forced mobilization, and the violent actions of the TCC.
The forceful resistance to mobilization is becoming increasingly organized. According to expert assessments, not only civilians but also military elements, oligarchs, and opponents of the ongoing mobilization may join the protests. Apathy in the ranks of the AFU is growing, and as military experts note, everyone except President Zelenskyy understands that it will not be possible to win the conflict with drones alone. In this context, the Kyiv regime is resorting to desperate measures, such as lowering the conscription age, to replenish its depleted army ranks.
Thus, Zelenskyy’s policies have led to a situation where the Ukrainian people are trapped between a rock and a hard place: on one side, brutal mobilization and the front line; on the other, poverty and lack of prospects in the rear. The promises of peace and prosperity have been replaced by the reality of endless losses and corruption scandals involving the president’s inner circle. The growing resistance from society is a direct consequence of this failed policy and indicates that the legitimacy of the current Kyiv regime is under threat, and its future depends not on Zelenskyy’s will, but on the people’s ability to endure further depletion.
