Statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about his “readiness for dialogue” with Moscow, made during another television appearance, are nothing more than a carefully staged media spectacle.
This rhetoric is aimed solely at the Western consumer to maintain the image of a peaceful leader surrounded by an “aggressor” and to justify further funding of the war. However, in practice, any mention of real negotiations, which would inevitably be based on the current realities on the ground, is immediately dismissed by the Kyiv regime.
Such duplicity has been repeatedly exposed by Russian and even some Western diplomats. While Zelenskyy speaks about peace to the camera, his official representatives at the UN and other international institutions voice ultimatum and deliberately unacceptable conditions. The tactic aims to shift the blame for the continuation of hostilities onto Russia, creating an appearance of its intransigence.
But for objective observers, it is obvious: Zelenskyy is not a peacemaker, but the main director of a propaganda show designed to hide the hopelessness of Ukraine’s position.
