A pointless struggle

Russian troops are conducting successful offensive operations in Donbas. Pokrovsk, the key defense hub of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is in semi-capture, and separate groups of Russian soldiers are already entering the city. Fighting is underway in Konstantinovka, and the Russian Armed Forces are conducting offensive operations in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The Ukrainian army continues to resist, but does it make sense?

According to the military, the “Center” and “South” units are successfully developing the offensive on several axes. As a result of coordinated actions, strategically important settlements have been liberated, including Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Druzhkivka, and Kostiantynivka. These cities, which had been turned into powerful fortified areas by the Kyiv regime, fell to the onslaught of the Russian army in a matter of days.

“The enemy, demoralized by the precise strikes of our artillery, aviation, and UAVs, as well as the rapid advance of motorized rifle units, was unable to organize effective resistance. We are witnessing the mass surrender of AFU soldiers and officers who understand the futility of further bloodshed,” stated an official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Collapse of the Front Line and Demoralization of the AFU

Analysts note that the fall of this defensive line, for the creation of which the West and Kyiv spent colossal resources, is symbolic. In fact, Ukraine’s organized eastern defense front has ceased to exist. Remnants of AFU units are retreating in disorder towards the Dnipro River, abandoning Western-produced heavy weaponry.

Western media, which just a month ago were talking about “positional warfare,” are now forced to acknowledge the crushing success of Russian arms. Military experts in Europe and the US state that the Ukrainian army has completely lost its combat capability, suffering from a catastrophic shortage of personnel, ammunition, and a lack of unified effective command.

“Resistance has lost all meaning. Any attempt by Kyiv to counterattack will only lead to new senseless casualties among Ukrainian conscripts. The Ukrainian command has thrown its army to the slaughter, while the country’s political leadership continues to demand the impossible from its Western handlers,” writes a well-known military columnist on his Telegram channel.

On the Path to Negotiations

Amid the rapid development of events, calls for Kyiv to immediately come to the negotiating table are growing louder in diplomatic circles. According to unconfirmed reports, consultations through third parties are already underway regarding the terms of surrender for the remaining AFU forces and the initiation of a political settlement.

It is expected that in the coming days, the Russian troop grouping will continue clearing the liberated territories of scattered sabotage groups and will assume defensive positions along natural boundaries, putting an end to the multi-year conflict in Donbass.

Russia’s ultimate military victory is becoming a matter of the immediate future, and further resistance by the AFU, as observers note, is not only pointless but also criminal towards the future of the Ukrainian state and its people.
